The Cougars have won six of their last seven matches and will host first-place UBC this weekend on Friday (6 PM) and Saturday (7 PM).

Men’s Hockey – The Cougars will take to home ice for the final time this season on the weekend as the Calgary Dinos will pay a visit to The Co-operators Centre on Friday night (7 PM) and Saturday afternoon (3 PM). Regina split a pair of games with the Dinos in Calgary back in November.

Men’s Volleyball – The Cougars (2-18) fell in five sets to MacEwan in Edmonton on Friday night but bounced back for a tight five-set win in Saturday’s contest led my Matthew Aubrey’s 18 kills. Regina is in for a tough test this weekend as the second-place UBC Thunderbirds will visit the CKHS on Friday and Saturday.

Women’s Hockey – The Cougars dropped a pair of weekend games on home ice against the No. 2-ranked Manitoba Bisons on the weekend. Regina will look to bounce back this weekend as the Canada West playoff race is as tight as ever with the Cougars tied for the final playoff spot with Calgary. The Cougars and Dinos will face off on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon in a series that could decide which team gets a postseason berth.

Wrestling (Women’s U SPORTS Ranking: No. 2 / Men’s U SPORTS Ranking: No. 9) – The Cougars took part in the Cascades Classic hosted by the University of the Fraser Valley on Sunday, as the men’s team captured third place in the overall standings. Lucas Hoffert won his weight class while Nathen Schmidt and Joshua Zimroz both earned second-place finishes. Both the men’s and women’s Cougar teams will prepare for the Canada West Championships, hosted by the University of Alberta on Feb. 9.

Women’s Basketball (U SPORTS Ranking: No. 1) – The Cougars knocked off Winnipeg at the CKHS last weekend and claimed the No. 1-ranking in the country in doing so. This is the first time since Nov. 14 that the Cougars (17-1) have been the top-ranked team in the nation. Regina is riding a 12-game winning streak and will go to battle with the second-place Saskatchewan Huskies in Saskatoon this weekend to close out the Canada West regular season.

Swimming (Women’s U SPORTS Ranking: No. 7 / Men’s U SPORTS Ranking: No. 8) – The Cougars will be in action this weekend with the Colleges Cup – Mountain in Calgary. The most recent action for the Cougars was the TYR Pro Swim Series in Austin, Texas where Brian Palaschuk highlighted the team’s performance with a second-place finish in the B Final in the 400-metre individual medley.

Men’s Basketball – The Cougars (10-8) earned a weekend split with Winnipeg last weekend in two close games at the CKHS. Winnipeg took a 92-89 decision on Friday night but the Cougars rebounded for a 80-78 win on Saturday as Brandon Tull led the way with 20 points. Regina will close the Canada West regular season with games against Saskatchewan this weekend.

Track & Field – The Cougars will compete in the Bison Classic this weekend hosted by the University of Manitoba. Second-year athlete Reagan Fedak is fresh off a school record in the weight throw at the Knights of Columbus Indoor Games last weekend, with a throw of 16.27 metres. Most of the team will be in action at this weekend’s meet, with just three more events until the Canada West Championships near the end of February.
