OVERVIEW
After positional meetings and an off-field workout, Day 3 opened with an hour long morning walk through session at Griffith’s Stadium on campus at the University of Saskatchewan. The players got into pads for the first time during a lively one hour and 45 minute afternoon practice.

The latter session was played under partly sunny skies, 17-degrees, with a 21 km/h northeast wind.

PLAY OF THE DAY
During the first afternoon teams period, second year running back Steven Miller exploded through a gaping hole, opened by veteran offensive linemen Chris Best and Dan Clark, for a huge gain.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Great Coach! He has lots of knowledge. It’s one of those things that every day you can go into a situation and pretty much know what to expect even if the defence hasn’t shown it today.” Dan Clark on new Offensive Line Coach, Dan Dorazio

RIDERS ADD KICKER
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced that international kicker Cody Thornton has signed with the team.

Thornton (5’10 – 165) will join the Riders out of Graceland University. Last season the Chula Vista, CA native had 63 punts for 2,698 yards (42.8 average) including a 74 yard long. He also connected on 8 of 12  field goal attempts while adding 41 kickoffs for 2,211 yards.

FAN ACCESS
Select players will be available to fans for autographs along the west fence line following the afternoon practices throughout the week.

TOMORROW
Players and coaches will hit the practice field at Griffiths Stadium for Day 4 of training camp with two practice sessions. The first practice will take place at 8:30 am, while the afternoon practice will run from approximately 3:00-4:55 pm.
