Condell Joins Austin In Hamilton

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Vice President of Football Operations, General Manager and Head Coach Kent Austin has made the first addition to his coaching staff today with the hiring of Tommy Condell as Offensive Coordinator and Receivers Coach.

Condell has spent the last three seasons alongside Austin as Cornell’s assistant head coach and wide receivers coach. Under his watch, Cornell receivers claimed spots on first and second All-Ivy teams in each of the past two seasons. In 2011, Big Red receiver Shane Savage set school records with 65 receptions and 1,080 receiving yards.

Condell joins the Ticats staff with four years of Canadian Football League experience under his belt. His previous experience includes stints as offensive coordinator with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2006), quarterbacks coach, receivers coach and pass game coordinator with the Ottawa Renegades (2004-05) as well as Special Teams Coordinator with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1997).

“Tommy is intelligent, creative and has an extremely strong work ethic,” said Austin. “He is an outstanding fundamental teacher, but even more importantly he is an outstanding individual who relates well to his players. He demands results and has a great track record of production from his players.”

His resume also includes stops at several U.S. colleges, including Southeastern Louisiana, Louisiana at Monroe, Stephen F. Austin, McNeese State, Hamilton College, Illinois Wesleyan, as well as the Arena Football League’s Albany Firebirds.

Over the course of his extensive coaching career, Condell has tutored every position on offence and has nine years of experience as an offensive coordinator or pass game coordinator.
