Women's Hockey – The Cougars (10-4-0) continue racking up the wins, as the team defeated Manitoba 4-3 in overtime on Friday and completed the weekend sweep with a 4-2 win over the Bisons on Saturday. The Cougars, who have four straight victories and have won eight of their last nine Canada West games, sit in second place in the Canada West standings with 20 points entering the weekend. They're right back at home this weekend, as the U of R hosts UBC (7-4-3) on Friday and Saturday night at The Co-operators Centre. Both games will start at 7 p.m.

Women's Basketball (CIS Ranking: No. 3) – The Cougars (7-1) extended their winning streak to seven games after a pair of road victories over the weekend, taking an 84-64 win over Thompson Rivers on Friday night and a 76-64 victory over UBC Okanagan on Saturday. The Cougars are back at home this weekend, as they'll host Trinity Western (1-7) on Friday night before a highly anticipated Saturday showdown with undefeated and No. 2-ranked Fraser Valley (8-0). Both games will tip off at 6:15 p.m. at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

Men's Basketball – The Cougars (2-6) lost 78-64 to Thompson Rivers on Friday night, but recovered to defeat UBC Okanagan by a 74-68 margin on Saturday in Kelowna, B.C. Frank Brown collected a team-leading 23 points in the win over the Heat, while Connor Burns recorded double-doubles in both games. The Cougars are back at home this weekend and will host Trinity Western (2-6) on Friday night and No. 6 Fraser Valley (5-3) on Saturday at the CKHS.

Men's and Women's Track & Field – This Saturday marks the first event of the 2012-13 schedule for the Cougars, as they'll participate in the Friendship Games at the Regina Fieldhouse. Events start at 2 p.m. and will wrap up at around 8 p.m.

Men's Hockey – The Cougars (6-6-2) suffered two road losses to Manitoba over the weekend, losing 6-0 to the Bisons on Friday night and falling 7-2 on Saturday afternoon. The team will look to get back on the winning track this Friday and Saturday, as the Cougars will travel to the West Coast to square off with UBC (8-5-1) at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre in Vancouver.

Men's Volleyball – The Cougars' conference record dropped to 1-9 after losing a pair of three-set road matches to UBC over the weekend. The team heads right back to British Columbia for the second consecutive weekend, as they'll take on No. 9-ranked Thompson Rivers (4-6) on Friday and Saturday night in Kamloops, B.C. Both matches will be webcast live at www.canadawest.tv.

Women's Volleyball – The Cougars (1-9) started out Friday's match by taking the first set over No. 2-ranked UBC, but the Thunderbirds responded with victories in three consecutive sets to take a 3-1 win. UBC followed that up with a straight-sets win on Saturday to complete the weekend sweep. The Cougars travel to Kamloops this weekend to play Thompson Rivers (0-10) on Friday and Saturday night. Webcasts for both matches will be available at www.canadawest.tv.

Men's Wrestling – The Cougars finished in third place in the team standings at the Huskie Open on Saturday. The team's top performance came from second-year wrestler Matt Fedler, who placed second at 72 kg. The Cougars are back on the mats this weekend, as they'll take on Minot State in a dual on Thursday night in Minot, N.D. before travelling to Moorhead, Minn. to compete in the Dragon Open on Saturday.

Women's Wrestling – The Cougars lost 24-10 to Jamestown College in a dual at the CKHS on Friday afternoon before placing third in the Huskie Open on Saturday in Saskatoon. Lisa McKibben had the team's top finish at the tournament, defeating teammate Kristine Longeau in the final to claim first place at 72 kg. The Cougars will have a six-week break before returning to the mats on Jan. 5 at the Golden Bear Open in Edmonton
