2013 Memorial Cup Tickets Go On Sale Today

Ticket packages for the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup go on sale to the public Thursday morning and organizers are promising a full-on festival of hockey and entertainment.

With support from Saskatoon Blades season ticket holders and the Canadian Hockey League, nearly 5,000 ticket packages have already been reserved for the May 16-26 event.

“Hockey fans are hungry for their favourite game and anxious to see this championship,” event co-chair Tim Gitzel said Wednesday during a media conference in Saskatoon. “Even with the tremendous support so far, there are still ticket packages available across the price spectrum. That’s great news for members of the public who will be able to secure their seats starting Thursday at 10 a.m.”

Packages for the 8-game MasterCard Memorial Cup range from $95 to $595 (plus applicable fees) and make excellent stocking stuffers for the hockey lover in your life.

In addition to top-notch hockey, the event will feature a number of fan-friendly attractions including:
•Pre-game food and festivities at FanFest, just a short walk from the arena;
•Live music and entertainment at FanFest after every game (admission is free with your game ticket);
•Appearances by prominent Saskatoon alumni, including every member of 1989 Blades team that competed in the Memorial Cup;
•Family activities with interactive games and displays for young fans.

“This event is unique because there’s only one game per night,” said Gitzel. “You can come straight from work, stop by FanFest for a bite to eat and then head over to the rink with friends for some great hockey.”

Purchase your ticket package online at HERE or by phone at (306) 938-7800 or 1-800-970-SEAT (7328). Event details are available at www.mastercardmemorialcup.ca
