Riders To Rest Many Starters

The Riders are treating Saturday's season finale against the Lions as a nothing contest regardless of what happens one night earlier in Edmonton. Darian Durant, Weston Dressler and Joe Lobendahn were three of many regulars who were basically spectators at practice on Wednesday as the team started getting ready for the season finale.

Expect to see second stringers like Drew Willy, Brooks Foster and Macho Harris to see considerable playing time while linebacker Abraham Kromah will also likely draw in to the starting roster.

Here is what Coach Chamblin was saying after practice. You can also hear what Weston Dressler thinks about being recognized as the team's most outstanding player.

Some Saskatchewan Roughriders contractually signed to play football standing around as spectators at practice ???? This head coach out to lunch with his methods, watch for this coach In the future to lose the locker room, questionable even If these players are not starting or playing at BC for whatever reasons.

Chamblin is basically saying he wants to go through the East. He is rolling the dice big time in my opinion. Toronto and Montreal aren't as strong on paper, but back to back roadies to the east will kill them in my mind. We'll see.

It would seem the Roughriders head coach doesn't put much faith In his team "IF" he thinks the east division Is his best option of winning a playoff game. Montreal/Toronto with their respective veteran leadership will not allow anyone to walk In on their home turf and let some rookie who thinks the east division Is the easy way In to the CFL championship. Not going to happen Roughriders If that's the unrealistic plan for your losing team.Montreal will be In the show this year, no doubt about that.
