Dressler Extension Official



If Arash Madani reports it, chances are its true. He told you yesterday that the Riders are close on a contract extension with Weston Dressler and today the release came out.






The Saskatchewan Roughrider announced today import wide receiver Weston Dressler has signed a new multi-year contract with the team. Financial details of the signing were not released.

Dressler is in his fourth season with the Green and White since signing as a free agent with the team in May, 2008. The 26-year old has tallied 199 receptions for 3,258 yards and 16 touchdowns in 46 regular season games. In addition the North Dakota product has added 30 kickoff returns for 617 yards and 63 punt returns for 579 yards.

Since joining the CFL, Dressler has established himself as one of the premier receivers in the league. He was named the CFL Most Outstanding Rookie in 2008 and a West Division All-Star in 2009. Last season he finished with a career high 1,189 yards off 81 receptions and six touchdowns.

Dressler was set to become a free agent in February, 2012.
