Riders Sign Two Import DB's

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced they have signed import defensive backs Jamar Love and Jeremiah Weatherspoon. The financial details of the signings were not released.

Love (6’1 – 200 lbs) spent time with a number of NFL teams during the past two seasons after initially signing as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots. The 24-year-old played four seasons at Arkansas and finished his career with 77 defensive tackles, eight special team tackles and three quarterback sacks.

Weatherspoon (6’2 – 221 lbs) spent time with the Calgary Stampeders in 2010 as well as attended mini camps with Cincinnati and New Orleans. Previous to that, the 24-year-old played four seasons at Florida International University. He finished his college career with 172 total tackles, two forced fumbles and five interceptions for 47 yards.

· The Riders also announced they have released non-import kicker Warren Kean, non-import offensive lineman Bart Archdekin and import defensive back Courtney Robinson.
