Tickets Still Available

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are reminding fans to grab their tickets for Sunday’s West Semi-Final versus the B.C. Lions at Mosaic Stadium with kick-off at 3:30 pm local time.

Currently there are approximately 1,000 tickets still available for the game. Those looking to get tickets can do so by visiting the Rider Ticket Office at Mosaic Stadium, by calling in at 1-888-474-3377 or buy on-line at www.riderville.com.

The Riders have sold-out all nine regular season games at Mosaic Stadium this season.

BLOGGER NOTE: While I have no doubt this game will be a sellout, I have to ask why it isn't already. Can anyone offer up some reasons as to why tickets are still available? The recent losing streak is not an acceptable answer either. This team has gotten itself a home playoff game which is something everyone clamoured for not so long ago.

The only reason I can think of is because home playoffs games have become the norm. Gone are the days that the Riders were the lovable losers. No need to worry about it the game will sell out we only have a 30,000 seat stadium with only 1,00 tickets left to sell. It's not like we have a 60,000 seats with half of that still unsold.

This game is a little different than the others. 2007 was our first home game in ages. 2008 we got in because of Calgary's surprising upset of BC and we still had the novelty factor. Last year was the Western Final and Henry. This year we have know about the game for a long time and there is no great rivalry with BC right now.

that's not true.

the game on the 28th in Edmonton will be damn close to a home game! just like last year in Calgary.

except a different ending.

Not having a sellout might force a blackout. The demand factor isn't that high right now seeing all home games are on TV. Perhaps that demand factor needs to grow a little.

Two words: Sunday games! Don't compete with the NFL and make all games a Friday or Saturday affair so it's more of an outing for the fans. A Saturday start at 4:00 or 5:00 would be just right. If the 19 - 30 year olds knew there was going to be a hell of a party after the game (Friday or Sat night) I think there would be more interest. The only game that should be on a Sunday is labour day.
