Another Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season is upon us as all 12 teams begin training camp on Friday September 3.

The Pats held their blue and white game Wednesday night and it was the Carter Ashton show. He had all four goals for the blue team in a 4-2 win over Team White. The Pats and Warriors will play Friday night in an exhibition game. Correct me if I'm wrong (Kevin Shaw I'm looking at you), but I think this is the first time in many, many years that these two teams have played a pre-season game against one another.

The US College Football season begins tonight. Three games are on the tube. They will all probably be pretty one-sided, but it is football is it not. By the way, Marshall and Ohio State is on the Big 10 Network, the Score has a doubleheader with Hawaii home to USC being the nightcap. I can't remember what the first game is.

-----

One week from tonight is the NFL season opener when the Vikings play the Saints. How many fantasy drafts are you in. The Regina media one (or at least it used to be until several moved on to other areas) goes tonight. Get the smack-talk ready!

If you've been to Rod's site this morning, you see one of the Winnipeg papers is having some fun with the Labour Day rivalry by posting the top ten reasons as to why the Riders suck. Rider fans know there are at least a thousand reasons as to why the Bombers suck. They have some kind of inferiority complex over there in "Loseipeg" don't they.

The thing on Rod's blog is funny. The thing is once again a certain slice of "fans" will take this as a personal insult to them and "attack" with the derogatory, classless statements they are famous for.

Hey Mitch,

It's only been 4 or 5 years since the Pats and Warriors hooked up for an exhibition game. I'm not sure on the exact season but a bunch of my friends and family went to the Jaw and were not happy that we had to pay full regular season ticket price.

What's the plan for Chandler Stephenson this year?
