Letter from Gary Brotzel

Game Two of the best-of-three WMBL Championship series was played Saturday night at Currie Field as mother nature blessed the prairies with some better weather.

Unfortunatly the result was not the one the Red Sox were looking for as they fell 7-2 to the Swift Current Indians. The win gave the Indians the WMBL Championship for 2010. Congratulations to Swift Current for a fine season.

The Management of the Regina Red Sox would like to commend all the players and coaches of the Sox for the fine season they had. It was the best year the team has had since joining the WMBL in 2005. It will prove to be a successfull season on and off the field.

A special thanks to all our loyal fans who endured what turned out to be the wetest summer on record for Saskatchewan. You turned out on many evenings in less than ideal baseball weather to catch the action. In this years playoff run I have seen many first time fans come out and enjoy the baseball. Don't be strangers next year! Come out and jump on the Red Sox band wagon. You will be glad you did!

A big thank you to all our workers and volunteers who play such a big role in helping us produce these great baseball evenings. Without your help it would not be possible to make this happen. A huge thank you to all our billets. You open up your home and hearts to our players and I know a lifetime friendship is formed. It is tough to see the boys leave at the end of the summer.

Thank you to all the Umpires, Concession Workers, and to the City Of Regina for making Currie Field a better place to watch Baseball.

Watch our website for some early bird season ticket specials coming out in the next few months. Red Sox tickets make great Christmas and birthday gifts!

Thanks again to everyone involved in making 2010 a season to remember!

Gary Brotzel
Regina Red Sox President
