PLAYS OF THE DAY

Today’s practice saw a number of highlight plays between quarterbacks and receivers but most noteworthy included Darian Durant connecting deep downfield with receiver Prechae Rodriquez while quarterback Cole Bergquist scrambled under pressure and found receive Jeremy Gilchrist across the field.

TONIGHT

Players will meet with coaches and continue learning the playbook at Luther College.

TOMORROW

Players and coaches will hit the practice field at Mosaic Stadium for Day 12 of training camp with one practice session beginning at 9:15 am.

Head coach Ken Miller also made it sound as if Weston Dressler is very close to signing a contract extension. That could be made official today by the way Miller was sounding. It looks like the deal would be very similar to the one Andy Fantuz signed--that being he is more than welcome to explore an NFL opportunity, but if and when he comes back, the new contract kicks in.

Miller was also talking about DE Brent Hawkins today. With his glowing endorsement, I asked him if Hawkins could make it a John who or Stevie who scenario. He basically answered Yes!
