Day 1 In The Books

Rider head coach Ken Miller says it was a different feeling when he woke up this morning. Its because he knew things started for real today. A good crowd showed up for the opening day of main camp.

Rookie pivot Kent Smith unleashes one. He looks good. Going to be tough getting rid of a quarterback or two.

Cole Bergquist looked alright today. Joe Sykes also caught my eye with a couple of plays. I saw Lance Frazier in sweats. I don't know what happened to him, but it didn't look serious.

As is the case after every practice, many autographs were sought including one young lad that wanted Rod Pedersen to sign something. Even the p x p guy gets love on the opening day of camp. No one asked for Carm's autograph though.....at least not that I saw. Damn, it was great being back out there.

By the way, it looks as if an Alouette blogger is trying to get Montreal fans ready for the Rider visit there this year. Click here to see what I'm talking about.
You know Rider fans will be ready for Montreal's visit.

I think the Riders and the fans can expect grief and abuse in every city they go to this year. Those games in Calgary could be REAL ugly!
