It Can Only Get Better----Can't It?

Baseball's opening day. A great day. Everyone starts at zero and we see who can do what. First impressions do mean a lot. Unfortunately, the first impression I have of the 2010 Chicago Cubs is not a good one. It started off well. The Cubs jumped on Atlanta starter Derek Lowe for three runs in the top of the first. From then on, well, let's just say it was craptastic. By the time that Chicago ace Carlos Zambrano came off the mound in the bottom of the first, it was 6-3 Atlanta. It didn't really get any better. The final 16-5. SIGHHHHH!!! As I said, this Cubs fan was not happy with the first impression his team made on him. Will it be 16-5 every night? No! However, this was still not the way to start the season.

Then again, there was the Blue Jays. Shawn Marcum takes a no hitter into the 7th only to lose it and the lead on a Nelson Cruz three run homer. Toronto takes back the lead, but closer Jason Frasor gasses it as the Rangers get two in the 9th for a 5-4 win.

What a great basketball game last night! The little guys from Butler almost knocked off the big dogs, but Duke managed to get by in the end winning 61-59. Butler simply ran out of time and they just about authored a miracle as a three pointer at the buzzer from half court came tantalizingly close to going in. Not many thought Butler would come within 10 of the powerful Blue Devils, but they had their chances. They have nothing to hang their head over. The people who should be hanging their head is CBS. Why did the rightsholder allow Jennifer Hudson to sing "One Shining Moment". That song is Luther Vandross' and as expected, Hudson destroyed it. Memo to CBS...never, ever let Hudson sing that song again!

Did you watch Tiger's press conference from the Masters? What did you think? Tiger telling everyone that the success he was having on the golf course meant nothing because all the turmoil in his personal life took away all the fun. Tiger still didn't tell us what happened at his home the night of the now infamous crash. Tiger did say he has never taken any HGH as has been rumoured. If it ever comes out that he did, his sex scandal will pale in comparison. Tiger could have slept with every skank between here and Augusta, but if it came out that his achievements on the course were helped by performance enhancers, it would destroy his legacy and his championships completely. I don't think Tiger can win the Masters this week, but I also think he is more than capable of capturing the green jacket. Every swing will be analyzed as the world finds out whether the Tiger of old is back or we are a while from seeing that happen.

Line of the day. ""I'm not saying Jarome Iginla has been in a slump, but the most offensive right-winger in Calgary the last couple weeks was Ann Coulter.''
----
I've said it once, I'll say it before. "The Score" needs more Renee Paquette! Whatever happened to that d-bag extrordinaire Morency? I'm sure he's comfy back under that rock that he crawled up from.
-----
If the NHL didn't want Jim Balsillie to be an owner, I can't see them being that enamoured with Brett Hull wanting to own a piece of the Dallas Stars.
----
Are the Capitals the Stanley Cup favourites just because they are going to win the Presidents Trophy? I still think it wouldn't surprise me to see Detroit-Pittsburgh 3 in the final.
-----
11 of the 16 Stanley Cup playoff teams could have 100 points before the season is done. That makes it real tough to pick a winner.
-----
Kid Rock is going to open for Bon Jovi! Oh boy (sarcasm dripping heavily)!!
----
Have we seen the last of quarterbacks Kerry Joseph and Michael Bishop? It wouldn't be surprising to not see Bishop at a training camp, but Joseph should be able to help someone out. I don't think the Riders are interested, but if Darian Durant were to go down, I could see KJ's phone ringing.
-----
Is it true that Vancouver might be the host of a future Wrestlemania.
-----
As you go into your Tuesday, I say......You can't expect people to look eye to eye with you if you are looking down on them or vice versa.
----
Have a gooder!

Sorry to hear you are a Cubs fan. I'm a Braves fan and really enjoyed that game.

And you aren't excited about Kid Rock opening for Bon Jovi? I can't wait. This will be one of the few times I'm more excited for the opening act than the headliner, I've seen Bon Jovi 6 times already but never Kid Rock.

I took the day off to watch the Jays and that's how they reward me. I just about broke my beer glass at 4 seasons when I slammed it on the table when Texas tied it in the 7th.

Kid Rock---is that the best we can get!

Who is Renee Paquette?

Neither Washington or Chicago will win the Cup because of goaltending. When all is said and done, it will be Pittsburgh and Vancouver battling it out because of Luongo and Fleury.

Morencey was fired by the Score....and on that note who watches the Score anyway...?

Well, at least Mitch has something in common with Morencey!

Yeah, the two of them were fired by organizations that think they are important, when in reality they both suck.
