The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Brendan Rowinski of the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Rowinski collected six points, scoring three goals and three assists to go with a +2 rating, in three games over the past week, helping the Warriors post a 2-0-1-0 record in that span.

On Wednesday, January 6th, the Warriors hosted the Medicine Hat Tigers at the Civic Centre in Moose Jaw. Rowinski scored a goal and added an assist as the Warriors downed the Tigers 5-1. On Friday, January 8th, the Warriors travelled to Regina to face their Trans-Canada foes the Pats. Rowinski picked up one goal in the Warriors 5-2 victory over the Pats. The next night, Saturday, January 9th, the Warriors were in Prince Albert to take on the Raiders. Rowinski found the net once, added a pair of assists and was named the games 3rd Star in the Warriors 8-7 shoot-out loss to the Raiders.

Rowinski’s six points over the last three games has him sitting 21st among all WHL scorers with 49 points (26 goals, 23 assists) in 41 games. The Warriors are 5-0-1-0 in their last six games and currently sit sixth in the WHL Eastern Conference with a 22-15-2-2 record for 48 points.

Rowinski, a 19-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, is currently playing his fourth season in the WHL. Originally a 1st round-13th overall selection of the Calgary Hitmen at the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft, he joined the Warriors mid-way through the 2008-09 season.
