Shaemus Is The Champ!

Vince MacMahon and his writers have done it again. I didn't think there was any way in hell(and wouldn't it be comfy there right now considering what its like outside)that the no-name Celtic Warrior known as "Shaemus" would beat John Cena at the pay-per-view Sunday night to gain the WWE World Championship. Who is Shaemus? You can't have some guy that no one really knows carrying the strap. Cena is Vince's boy right now. He can't lose. Apparently he can. To the surprise I'm sure of many wrestling fans Shaemus is the new WWE champ. I didn't watch the pay-per-view, but I will have to try and withstand the idiocy that is Dennis Miller tomorrow as he guest hosts RAW to see what's up. If this is Vince's way of getting some new young talent into the mix, so be it. Its good to know that the same old guys aren't the ones with the gold, but if this turns out to Shaemus dropping the belt to Cena or Randy Orton in the next couple of months or at worst tonite's RAW, it will leave one wondering just what Vince is trying to pull. By the way, another young gun is also wearing gold this morning as Drew McIntyre beat John Morrison to win the Intercontinental championship.

Those that complain the NFL is boring should sit down and watch the Giants-Eagles game from Sunday night. That might have been the most exciting game of the year with big play after big play after big play. It ended 45-38 for the Eagles with around 900 yards of total offence being accumulated between the two teams and five touchdowns of 60 yards or over. It was an outstanding game to watch. What wasn't an outstanding game to watch....how bout the Seahawks stumbling and bumbling their way to a 34-7 loss in Houston. What an embarassing performance. Pathetic would be too kind of a word to use for that excuse.

Message to Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald. My fantasy football season depends on you. Getting a touchdown and over 100 yards receiving should keep me going for another week. Thank you!
------
The Carolina Panthers believe Randy Moss quit on his New England Patriot teammates Sunday. The Panthers shouldn't believe this, they should just confirm it. Moss looked like he would rather be on his couch watching football than playing it as the Patriots struggled to beat Carolina. Moss is obviously a little pouty after being told to go home the other day after he was late for a practice---a practice he was trying to get to in bad weather.
----
Raiders quarterback Jamarcus Russell may go down as a bigger bust than Ryan Leaf. He is that bad! I don't know if this guy could start on a CFL team! He's terrible!
-----
I still think Titans running back Chris Johnson is the best running back in the NFL ahead of Adrian Peterson.
------
How can one guy catch 21 passes in a single game. At any point did the Colts think about double coverage on Denver's Brandon Marshall. 21 catches? Were there any other receivers on the field for the Broncos?
-----
The Canadian juniors have started doing their thing at the Brandt Centre. They will workout again tomorrow afternoon before holding another scrimmage tonight. They play a Cougars/Huskies team on Tuesday.
-----
When will Tiger Woods golf again?
-----
Is it just me or do you think Kevin Martin will screw up and lose the gold medal game in Vancouver on a key shot in the 10th end?
-----
If EA Sports drops Tiger Woods(as the rest of his sponsors are doing), who do they replace him with. Who will the new face of the PGA Tour be? I don't think it will be Phil, Vijay or Ernie. Could it be Padraig Harrington or Steve Stricker. Would you buy Jim Furyk PGA Tour 2011?
------
Has the start of December officially now erased the memories of what was such a mild November. YEESH!!
-----
Is Danny Barrett going to name Nealon Greene the University of Buffalo's new offensive co-ordinator? Yeah you're right, that was a cheap shot.
-----
I wonder how Diego Sanchez is looking today. If you saw him get beat by BJ Penn Saturday night at the UFC ppv, you know what I'm talking about.
----
Sheamus??!! Really??!!
------
Stay warm my friends!

That game last night was one of the best football games I have ever seen. It had everything. NBC has sure lucked out this year with its Sunday night package. They have had some good battles.

I was at the Canada scrimmage last night. A lot of empty seats. I hear a lot of seats are going to get given away to make the building look full. That's pretty sad if its the case. Methinks the organizers really screwed up on this one, and Regina is going to look bad.

I have no problem with Sheamus winning the belt. This means its not the same old, same old with Cena, Orton, Triple H, etc, etc having the strap. Maybe this will catapult guys like Kingston, Dibiase, Miz into a more of a main event status and some of these other guys can ride into the sunset.
However, I am thinking Shaemus won't have the belt for long. In fact, I doubt he still has it by the time the Royal Rumble comes or at the RR.

You don't get catapulted into main event status. You earn it. Granted HHH runs the show, but it's all about drawing money. On a whole there are only 3 guys that can draw money. They don't put the belt on Undertaker because when he shows up it's a full house anyway. Heck the WWE Card in Regina didn't have a full house, and Shaemus was there. Chris Jericho at best during the golden age would be straight mid card level. Shaemas is old, has got a brutal work rate, and no charisma. This has happened in the past where Vince has put the strap on guys who couldn't do diddly. They might have just given it to him so Cena or HHH could heal up over the next couple months to get ready for the Summer Slam push. If you're an old NWA fan that happened when Jim Crocket put the belt on Ronnie Garvin from Ric Flair....yeah right.

Obama,

Sheamus wasn't in Regina, was he? Drew McIntrye was, though.

Oh, and I believe the Undertaker is still the champ on Smackdown?

Adrian Peterson will help his team win a Super Bowl. Chris Johnson will not do the same thing. My decision is an easy one as to who the better RB is.

I'm not watching as regularly so I didn't know about Taker. My big mistake I got this guy mixed up with that other Irish guy that lost to Golddust. That's the point as I can't tell these guys apart anymore. Regardling Taker when you look at the history they have not had to put the belt on him 13 times as he doesn't need it. He probably makes as much as the Champ would anyway.

My point was Cena/HHH etc., are the guys really driving the shows. With this guy they'll see what he can draw for money. I do think they're just giving the top guys a winter break though.

The only problem with Larry Fitzgerald being your fantasy football saviour - is that Kurt Warner is my quarterback.

Savour the flavour, Mitchy. It's the bitter taste of defeat.

Different league Hodgie. This one is a much more expensive league. The combo of Randy Moss quitting and Ray Rice racking up huge chunks of land meant a one sided Ali Haji-Sheikh win. Congrats on that and don't be a one and done.
