Top Canadian Sporting Moments

As the country turns 142 years old today, what better time to think about the great sporting moments Canada has produced. There have been many of them, but what tops the list. For what its worth, here' s mine.

1. Paul Henderson's goal in 1972.

2. Winning mens hockey gold at Salt Lake City

3. Terry Fox's marathon of hope. (I consider this to be a sporting moment)

4. The Jays winning their first World Series

5. Mario Lemieux's goal giving Canada the Canada Cup

6. Mike Weir's win at the Masters

7. Donovan Bailey winning gold at the Atlanta Olympics

8. The Expos playoff success in 1981

9. Catriona Lemay Doan winning gold in 1998 and repeating the feat in 2002.

10. Darryl Sittler's 10 point night.

No mention of Bret Hart, Edge, Jericho or Benoit winning WWE gold. CMON!!! You're a wrestling fan, one of those had to crack the top 10.

Salt Lake City to me was bigger than Henderson. Maybe its because I wasn't born when that happened.

I agree with Rick Hansen. If you have Terry Fox, you have to have Rick Hansen.

Hey Mitch. This is a little off-topic but have you seen the prices for the NHL game here. NO THANKS!! I don't know if this is Evraz setting the prices or not, but there is no way I'm paying over 100 bucks for a good seat on a pre-season game.
