Final Thoughts On Week 2

What did we learn after watching Week 2 of CFL games. Here are some random thoughts I'll throw out there

--Has anyone had a worse debut at any level of football than Eskimos running back Arkee Whitlock?? Two dropped touchdown passes, a fumble, having a pass bounce off his shoulder pads resulting in an interception that was taken back for a touchdown. The guy is lucky he made it back to Edmonton in one piece. Will Richie Hall put him back in the lineup this week??

--Seeing Calgary and BC at 0-2 is pleasurable. Do you not agree??

--Is it just me or are we seeing a lot of blocked punts and kicks this season just two weeks in

--Seeing Toronto's guy got hurt in Week 1(I can't remember his name) and Paul McCallum got hurt in Week 2 meaning guys that don't normally kick had to do so, will teams maybe go back to having one kicker and one punter a la your Saskatchewan Roughriders. I think Ken Miller is confident that if Luca Congi or Jamie Boreham get hurt that the other can step in and do the job. As long as both don't get hurt in the same game.

--Will the win over the Lions propel the Ti-Cats to do bigger and better things? As a CFL fan, I hope so.

--Are the Riders showing once again that they have the best depth of any team in the CFL?? One guy goes down with another guy stepping up and the transition is seamless.

--Kerry Joseph looks much more comfortable running things under Bart Andrus then he did under Rich Stubler and Don Matthews. I don't know if Kerry has the talent to work with in T-O that he had here in 2007, but I'm glad he's back on his game because he is one of the CFL's good guys.

--Can we officially classify Milt Stegall as a failure on the CFL panel or do we have to give him one or two more shots at it. Take away his no one wants to play in Regina "joke", when you don't know where one quarterback plays and can't remember the name of the other guy, it shows me you're not doing your homework.

--Will the atmosphere at Mosaic Stadium be like a playoff game on Saturday? The 13th man had better be ready when the Alouettes come to town. There should be no danger of this game not being sold out.
