Sources close to CTV Sports indicate the Regina Pats will call a press conference Monday afternoon to formally introduce Curtis Hunt as the head coach of the WHL club.

It will mark Hunt's second stint as head coach of the hockey team. Under Hunt's first tenure as coach, the Pats registered a pair of 40-win seasons and compiled a regular season record of of 125-120-25.

In 2007-08, Hunt led the Pats to their first East Division title in a decade, posting a record of 44-22-4-2.

Hunt guided the Pats for four seasons before leaving the club last summer to become an assistant coach with the NHL's Ottawa Senators. Hunt's stay in Ottawa was brief, when the Senators fired head coach Craig Hartsburg and re-assigned Hunt to the team's AHL affiliate in Binghamton.

Hunt ranks second all-time in Pats history for games coached (270) and wins (125).

Letting Terry Perkins go doesn't make a lot of sense now, does it?

I'm betting they will also be announcing an Assistant Coach along with Curtis, and will possibly have had approval from Curtis to work with the new coach on Defence.
