2010 Grey Cup To Edmonton

The Rider Nation won't have to travel far for Grey Cup festivities in 2009 when the big game is played in Calgary. They won't have to travel far in 2010 either as Edmonton will host the game. Official confirmation of that will come tomorrow.

The rumour mill is already churning as to who Tom Renney's replacement in New York will be and the big name coming out of talks is former Tampa coach John Tortorella who now works for TSN. Sources say an agreement is already in place but the Lightning haven't granted him permission to do so. The league is apparently now getting involved as they try to rectify the situation. It just begs the question as to what Tampa is up to. When a guy is no longer involved with your organization why do you try and stand in his way when an offer comes up. Its a little sleazy if you ask me.

Stefanie Lawton has finally broken into the win column at the Scotties. She beat Prince Edward Island in a wild one as she steals one in 10 for a 12-11 victory. Team Saskatchewan has the afternoon draw off.....they are 1-3 much to the surprise of many who thought Lawton could prevent Jennifer Jones from repeating as champions.

Some NFL news...stories out of Minneapolis suggest the Vikings are ready to make a trade with the Houston Texans that would see quarterback Sage Rosenfels wearing purple. He would then compete against Tavaris Jackson and Gus Frerotte. So much for those Matt Cassel or Matt Hasselbeck rumours I guess.

The Blue Jays say today Vernon Wells will miss a month after a hamstring injury. Its going to be a long, long year in Toronto. Dare I say it, they could be last in the American League East.
